Death sentence passed on member of Al-Itihad Al-Islamiya group


The federal court of Ethiopia on Thursday passed death sentence against a former member of the radical Somali Al-Itihad Al-Islamiya group for committing terrorist acts during mid 1990s State ministry of justice said in a statement.

Pardon granted to 10, while revoked to 4 former CUD leaders, members


Recommendation presented by the Ethiopian Pardon Board to the country's president to grant pardon to ten leaders and members of the former Coalition for Unity and Democracy (CUD) party was approved while pardon granted earlier to four others was lifted, the Ministry of Justice said.
