There has been good news in 2010 for the many thousands of Ethiopians across the globe who are seeking a cheap, reliable and honest way to keep in touch with their loved ones when they call Ethiopia. Stockholm based international call company Rebtel has been busy over the past twelve months ensuring that Ethiopians exiled abroad can keep in touch with their loved ones with a quality, honest call service that is easy to afford.
Rebtelís promise to deliver a simple to use, effective, quality system for international calling has certainly been delivered, according to recent findings on an extensive customer survey investigating the trends and opinions of their users. Over 95 per cent of Rebtel customers have said that they would highly recommend the company to their friends and relatives, with around 70% of respondents confirming that Rebtel was indeed easier to use, cheaper and of a better quality than any of their competitors.
For the Ethiopian market, which Rebtel operational controller Mikael Rosengren revealed is one of the companyís ten largest corridors in terms of revenue, this has been a particularly positive year. In December 2009, call rates to the country were slashed by 20% by Rebtel and just two months later, in February 2010, call rates were once again slashed by a further 6%.
The current rates of USD 0.205 per minute via landline to call Ethiopia and USD 0.225 per minute via mobile are amongst the cheapest available anywhere in the world. And there is an added bonus for those who call Ethiopia on a regular basis, that they will pay a fair price for the minutes they use.
This comes on the back of startling evidence which suggests that the vast number of people who call African or Caribbean countries using calling cards, are being ripped off by the companies who own the cards, with many respondents complaining that they had been cheated out of hundreds of dollars of call time.
On the back of such glowing and hearty recommendation from their current user base, traffic to the important Rebtel Ethiopian call market has grown by 100% over the past twelve months.
Mr. Rosengren revealed that most of that traffic originated in the important Rebtel market of the United States and in particular the states of California, Virginia and Maryland, as well as the cities of Minnesota and Washington.
With Rebtel stating that their current aim is to reinforce their strong base in the United States and continue to grow that market, as well as expand their user base in key strategic areas including Europe (in particular the U.K), Asia and beyond, it looks like being another positive year in 2011 for Rebtel and its customers.
The winning combination of low calling rates, a quality service that is easy to use and a service which customers can trust, seems likely to ensure that Rebtel customers who call their family across the globe, will continue to be more than satisfied with the quality of service currently offered.
