NGOs undertaking 136 million Birr worth dev't projectsJanuary 13th, 2010
Some 30 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) operating in Hadiya Zone, South Ethiopia Peoples' State have been undertaking 52 development projects at a cost of nearly 136 million Birr, sources disclosed.
The projects are in the areas of education, health safe water provision, environmental conservation and prevention of HIV/AIDS, among others.
So far 18 primary schools, two health stations and a number of safe water facilities have already gone operational. The remaining projects are expected to be finalized until 2012.
Upon completion of the projects one million residents will become beneficiaries.
